Scooting For Hope

In December 2025, Founder Rob Saunders will be attempting break the Guinness World Record for the greatest distance travelled on a kick scooter in 24 hours, aiming to scoot over 270 km in a single day. But this challenge is about so much more than setting a record—it’s a way to raise $100,000 for the Pregnancy After Loss Clinic at the Royal Women’s Hospital in Melbourne.

The Dandelion Clinic

The clinic will be one of a kind, offering specialised care for families navigating pregnancy after loss. It will provide consistent clinical support, including treatment from doctors, midwife care, and emotional and practical support from social workers.

It’s also deeply personal for us—this clinics name was inspired, in part, because of our daughter Billie, whom as you know, we lost in 2019. The work they’ll be doing will change, and save lives, offering hope, support, and dedicated services to families who need it most.

Why This Campaign Matters

This challenge is more than just a physical test; it’s a powerful platform to raise awareness for pregnancy loss, amplify the voices of bereaved families, and inspire resilience. Having spent the past decade testing his limits through weird and wonderful endurance challenges, Rob knows how powerful storytelling through adventure can be in bringing people together and creating real change.

Here’s a little recap of Rob’s story

  • In 2014, Rob quit his job, sold his apartment, and set out on a 1,500 km solo trek through Japan.

  • Since then, he’s climbed Mount Fuji (twice), scooted almost 700 km down Ireland, competed in the Melbourne Marathon, and most recently, ran every single day for an entire year (366 days straight!) to raise awareness for stillbirth.

  • Along the way, he’s became a speaker and published author, contributing his journey through Japan to an anthology series alongside some of the world’s most celebrated adventurers, including Sir Ranulph Fiennes and Levison Wood.

  • This year, he’ll also be featured in a documentary called “Her name is Celeste” that promotes stillbirth awareness, sharing his journey with loss, his purpose and highlighting the resilience and antifragility of bereaved families.
